Get Clients In By Opting Out!

Ever had a client not qualify for financing or better program because their scores were just a few points to low?  It's happened to us all!  Did you know that by opting out of future credit offers they can increase their credit scores?  I have been using this as a tool here in Nashville, TN for years and helped several clients get approved without the waiting involved in a full credit repair program.

The client simply needs to log on to http://www.optoutprescreen.com/and select the "5yr Opt Out" option.  With their permission you can even do it for them.  It takes about 4 minutes, even for the slowest hunt and peck typist.  Generally I will wait about ten days before I will re-pull credit to see what the scores have increased too.  This isnt a miracle cure for bad credit by any means, but if they only need a few points to qualify...you'll most likely get it.  I've seen scores increase as much as 20 points, but thats rare.  Usually its around 10.  But if you have that client that is just missing a loan approval by a hair, I recommend it highly!  Good luck!

Thank you for this information.  I've never heard of it before.   I have a client I'm working with that we are going to give it a try.

This is good information to share with the public Chad.  Just last week a credit counselor told me that these pre-screened offers are often by former creditors.  He said that often these companies are close to a certain credit report entry falling off a credit report.  They will send a pre-screened offer to the individual and they will answer the offer thinking either the old debt has fallen off or they are eligible to receive a new offer.  However, when they reply it will bring that old debt current.  I had no idea that was happening.  He also said the best thing to do is just to opt out of the offers.
