This is the name of the TOXIC BLACK MOLD.
This fungus may produce a Trichothecene mycotoxin-stratoxin H which is poisonous by inhalation. The dark colored fungi grows on building material with a high cellulose content and a low nitrogen content.
Indivduals with chronic exposure to the toxin introduced by this fungus reported cold & flu symtons, sore throats, diarrhea, headaches, fatigue,dermatitus, hair loss and generalized malaise. The toxins produced by this fungus will supress the immune system affecting the lymphoid tissue and bone marrow. It is also reported to be a liver & Kidney carcinogen.
All household mold is not toxic. Have an expert in the field test for the various molds found in the home, whether or not your home is for sale.
