Driving out in the country today to check on a possible house for sale I did a double take as I passed this mailbox.  I actually decided to back up and take a picture of it for activerain to see.

I hope that taking a picture of a mailbox is not breaking any rules.  I have cut off the address and one would have to do a lot of searching to find it.

Examine it to see how much skill has been put into it.  I love the little pointy-toed shoes like cowboys wear and the hat pulled low like the cowboy singers wear!  I also liked the screw on the belt which I assume represents a gun.

This guy is an artist or has way too much time on his hands, great photo though I too would have backed up and shot this unique picture.

Yea ha! Now that is a first for me to see and I have seen a lot of wild mailboxes!

Hi Barbara - Last week I also did a double take when I saw a mailbox in the form of a fishing lure! I know the feeling about wanting to get a picture of it! The lure was the classic "Hula Popper".

Barbara----what are you doing in Kansas----isn't that "Dorothy's house?

That is a funny mail box! If you drive around out in the country east of Searcy you can find all kinds of kooky mail boxes!

Steve, it is artistic.  I posted some tin chickens that I thought was original Arkansas folk art and found out they were made in Mexico and brought into this country.  This could be the same but it is creative.

Charles, I'm glad you liked the mailbox.

Jim, being no fisherman, I'm not familiar with the Hula Popper.  Better attach a photo for us.

Charles, I'd say it could be Dorothy's tin man friend!

Jennifer, gas costs too much now to drive and search for mailboxes, doesn't it?

Great photo.  A perfect example of why you should always have a camera with you

Konnie, they do say that homeowner's associations are absolutely horrid!  Never been in one myself.

Joe, I was somewhat apprehensive at first.  After all....cowboys....guns....nosy stranger.  I could have been in danger.  LOL

I don't think it's breaking any rules.  That is a most unique mailbox!  It's amazing what people come up with...  :)

Debi, I hope not.  If it were not eye catching, why would they want it?

Mary, they had to have worked hard.  Did you get the computer repaired?
