Active Rain...From A Different Drummer!!!

You've probably heard the story of the mother who was watching her son, a drummer in the high school marching band, who was out of step with the other 'synchronized to the music' band members...she commented, "Oh, look, everyone is out of step except my son Johnny"!

Well the last few days I have been watching with equal amounts of seriousness and hilarity the various debates going on about CONTENT...RELEVANCE...SEO OPERATION...WHO SHOULD...WHO SHOULDN'T...WHAT SHOULD...WHAT SHOULDN'T...be in our blogs!!! 

Here's my 2 cents...

  •        I know Title Insurance...
  •        I don't know SEO...
  •        My customers come to me for title insurance professionalism, not SEO competence...
  •        I don't get many of my customers through the internet, but I get a fair amount...more than you would probably expect...
  •        I enjoy Blogging...
  •        I love Active Rain...and its members...
  •        I own my blog...it's mine...including the comment section...
  •        I will continue to post whatever I like...whatever I deem relevant...whatever pleases ME...
  •        Of 85,000 members, 130 subscribe to my blog...nowhere near the top on this network...and that's OK...
  •        My subscribers are interested in seeing what I'm posting...sometimes they comment...sometimes they don't...
  •        I write with my spirit as well as my mind and heart...and I'm consumer oriented...
  •        I enjoy helping all people...those who agree and those who disagree with me...
  •        I love people...of all races...of all faiths...of all genders...of all ages...of all political views...
  •        One of my goals in posting is to get everyone to know me...

 

That's how my drum beats! That's my take!

I let the chips fall where they may...my motives are just, fair, ethical, compassionate, truth seeking, tolerant, and 'other centered'...I know Google and God are watching me...one judges me now...one will judge me later!!! Blog, and have fun!!!

Kathy: People I attract through my blog know I'm a real estate professional...they need to know something else important about me...that's what I try to impart in my posts!!! people like dealing with 'real people'...sometimes 'off topic' is 'on topic' for the consumer!!! JMHO

Excellent advice Fran! I have found myself very busy lately, and am happy about it. Trying to keep up with all the search engine optimization stuff is just more than I can handle. I would rather spend time with my kids and family. Blog On My Title Brother!

Love the analogy.  I found this in an odd way... an ActiveRain alert sent me to a splog that had a snippet of your post... among a bunch of stuff, the word rain seemed to be the thing that got you splogged.

I believe in free speech on ActiveRain.  I think ActiveRain has a right to tell us what they'd like to see more of but I hope they won't restrict any content based on making it more relevant or more Google Juicy.  Each of us owns our own blog (including the comments on our blog) and can determine what we want it to look like... and say to our readers.
