When in Suwanee GA, you must visit the Suwanee Town center, located at the corner of Buford Hwy and Lawrenceville-Suwanee Road.
A 10 acre urban park, with an amphitheater stage, a big splash interactive fountain, the Suwanee City Hall building, an open manicure lawn with plenty of trees, walking sidewalks, perfect for picnics, short strolls, walking dogs and lately the perfect place to play Pokemon Go!
The park is surrounded by restaurants like Ippolitos, Suwanee Tavern, Friends, little boutiques, the famous Italian ice cream “Ritas” and favorite yogurt "Yogli Mogli" among other shops and retail space.
You will find plenty of parking around the park and behind the shops. This park is also house of a permanent art exhibit with steel sculptures, sidewalk paintings, and our own 9/11 exhibit "Suwanee’s Remembrance", unveiled on September 11, 2013; features a damaged, twisted relic from one of the World Trade Center towers. The park hosts the Suwanee Farmer’s Market, free movie nights, Broadway in the Park, concerts, 5K’s and Food Truck Fridays.
This place is full of live and color, kites, bikes, footballs, picnic blankets, hammocks, and people of all ages come and find something relaxing and or fun to do. Great green area to enjoy summer days and beautiful all year round.
Among the art pieces you can find here are: "Iron Canopy" a kinetic sculpture (wind can set it in motion) fabricated of stainless steel and aluminum this piece recognizes the idea that life supports life, the "Dancer XX" by Jack Howard-Potter, "Corey" as part of a series of steel horses, "Faith" by Adam Walls among several others.
Other parks, jogging trails and city library are located within walking distance.
