Some might insist that to be a business professional today, it requires a certain savvy of smartphone skills and the ability to navigate computer technology.
I'm not here to agree or disagree since I happen to know very successful people that stand strongly on both sides of the argument.
I do use a smart phone and computer and I am constantly adding and updating pertinent client information. However, I will share with you that I am an 'old-fashioned-girl' so in addition to my technology helpers, I have found that a crucial aspect of Organization 101 skills is that I ALWAYS keep a small spiral notebook and pen close by. I start each day - week - month with a 'To-Do' list and as things arise throughout the day, additional bullet points are added.
I know the days of paper and pen are quickly fading - but for this girl, I'll keep mine in a safe place and intend to use it forever...Plus, I confess that I gain a certain feeling of satisfaction from placing that check mark beside what has been accomplished.
What are your thoughts?
Is holding a pad and pen like beholding a dinosaur?
Thanks for sharing some of your successful business practices. I also use a hand written list of things to to do.

I have been in technology for over 30 years. I have tried out just about every method from notepads to Filofax systems to Palm to-do lists to smartphone lists. Here's the thing - they ALL work, if you use them consistently.
Right now, I just have a text document broken down into different headings, and stored on Google documents so I can access it from anywhere. It is simple (key in my view to actually using it) and I can highlight the really important items in color for emphasis. I can also print it out to clip to my folder for easy on the go access - but then I have to remember to update the electronic version - there's that consistency thing again!
So, just use whatever you find effective. But use it. Keeping things in your head is not a substitute.

Phil Ormsby - Yes, experience continues to teach that 'Consistency' is the bottom line in any organization endeavor...
Thank you so much for stopping by and sharing your thoughts. Have a great day!
Maria Sapio I am also an old fashion type of person. I keep my notepad in my back pocket at all times. I also have a few spares stashed everywhere. I am yet to find an app that never bugs out, never runs out of batteries and can be used to joggle all of the things I have to write down.
But every few day I do transfer my notes into my computer, not very old school.

Nicholas Crane - Thank you for sharing your thoughts, and thanks for keeping the dinosaur alive...Maybe we should stock up in case paper and pens are ever obsolete...
Maria Sapio Yes we should stock up, I already have one closet full of paper, paper and more paper, all shapes and sizes. The pens on the other hand always seem to walk off, can't keep them anywhere for long.

Maria...I do everything on my phone and computer...but I also have a pad next to me (and I write everything down and cross off as I finish). That being said, if you do not embrace technology you will be out of business in 10 years or less.

I do agree Jeffrey DiMuria 321.223.6253 airRErealty.com that technology is an integral aspect of this business. Thanks for sharing, and have an awesome day!
Good Thursday morning Maria Sapio -
I too use my phone but I keep my spiral notebook at hand and like checking off my list on a daily basis.

John McCormack - I'm working on my 'To-Do' list now in my spiral notebook...
Hi Maria - I think of myself as technical but I also like the lists or even sticky notes.

Maria Sapio I don't know what I would do without 'post-it-notes'.
