Weird powers of gravity. Mystery Forest. Angola Indiana

This could be me!  I think of "me" each time I look at it.  It is dated 5/30/67 and was taken evidently at Mystery Forest, Angola, Indiana, 3.5 miles North on US 27 and it says it is demonstrating the weird powers of gravity.  It is a postcard.

Why me?  Because of the dress.  She has on a matched pant suit, keds with no socks, and has a short hairdo (black hair which I once had....sigh....) that was popular at the time.  I can't tell if it is double knit but double knit was wonderful!  No iron, never wrinkle fabric that everyone adored.

But what is she demonstrating.  I googled Mystery Forest and gravity and have found no answer.  One of the Sleuths (Don Thompson) can probably tell us exactly what was going on.  But isn't it an interesting old postcard?

Ari, this had to have been a tourist attraction but perhaps it has closed.  Thanks for commenting.

I'm guessing it was similar to The Mystery Spot in the Santa Cruz Mountains in CA near where I lived. There was supposed to be strange magnetic powers that made furniture and people do things that looked impossible. Read about it here.

It was mostly an illusion created by gravity and the slanted terrain.

Checking a Google map of the area, there is an S. Old HWY 27 but nothing around except the Clark Millworks. There is a forest in the area. There was an amusement park that closed in 2008 in the area.

Don, I knew you could figure it out.  Seems as if I remember when there was something strange such as women could do something with a chair that men couldn't but I don't remember what it was.  Maybe that was what was going on here.

Hello all, Im not at member of this group but ran across your comments about the above picture of the Mystery Forest In Angola Indiana. Well when I was a kid, back in the 50's this place actually existed! It was north of Angola on old US27. The story behind this place was that the "house" was hit by a meteor which caused these "Mysterious" powers, such as water flowing uphill, a chair leaning against a wall which you could sit on and not fall (like in the picture) you could walk up hill while actually walking downhill (really messed with the vertigo) and other pretty neat things. Actuality it was just a house built on different angles outside with the inside floors and walls built in other directions. Then there were other
out buildings" to see like little animals, and to by souvenirs of course! Im not quite sure when this place closed but I know my buddies and I looked this place up (actually trespassed) back in 1974 I think it was, and it pretty much had fallen in disrepair and grown up in weeds, but still had that vertigo feeling if you had a few beers in you. ;) Now I drove up past there last fall 2016 looking for it, and it appears that there is no evidence whatsoever of its existence anymore. I observed a couple nice houses and well manicured houses. I am betting they probably have no knowledge of what folklore they are actually sitting on. This kid will always remember the magic of that place!
