Florida Keys Scholarships Available for Marine Mechanics

If you or anyone you know is interested in pursuing a career in Marine Mechanics in the FLorida Keys, the Marathon Yacht Club Education Foundation (MYCEF) has scholarships available for adults no longer in high school.  Here are the application instructions:

Scholarship Guidelines

The Marathon Yacht Club Educational Foundation (MYCEF) will award up to two scholarships of $1,000 each to adults 18 years of age and older wishing to further their education in Marine Sciences, Services, and Trades. This money is to be used for tuition, books, room and board.

 

Qualifications

Applicants must have been out of high school for at least one year, resided for at least one year in the

Middle Keys (Big Torch to Long Key) and demonstrate a financial need.

A personal interview will be held with our selection committee.

Funds must be spent within two years from award of the scholarship. Funds not spent will revert back

to the MYCEF scholarship fund. Funds will be disbursed by the MYC Educational Foundation

Treasurer. Properly documented expenditures for tuition, books, and room and board may be

reimbursed to the student or paid directly to the school.

 

Application

To apply for the MYCEF scholarship, an applicant must compile the following information and deliver

the completed package on or before  August 8, 2016. Three letters of reference must accompany the

application. The application and its attachments will be destroyed after scholarship awards have been

The following statement must be included in your application: “The information contained in this
