Get it on your calendar NOW. It's THIS COMING SATURDAY!
This Saturday, May 4, is the 34th Annual Carlsbad Village Street Faire, is the largest event of its kind in the nation. Not only to visitors have the opportunity to enjoy our wonderful seaside Carlsbad Village but they can “window shop” about 900 vendors and purchase just about anything one can imagine.
Our charming downtown streets will be transformed into a mega-outdoor shopping mall - here's a partial list of what you can buy:
- jewelry
- household products
- antiques
- holiday items
- a wide range of artwork and crafts
There will be lots of refreshments, including a wine and beer garden sponsored by the Rotary Club of Carlsbad. You can also enjoy a pancake breakfast at the railroad depot sponsored by the Kiwanis Club.
Children will have lots of fun too. There will be rides, games, a super slide, bounce house (what fair is not complete with one of these?!), various arts and crafts, and face painting (another fair staple).
Given an expected attendance of 100,000, you know that parking will be a challenge, so expect delays as well as having to walk some distance unless you get there very early. There will also shuttles every 15 minutes from 2 locations to ease traffic and parking – at the Poinsettia Coaster Station on Avenida Encinas, and at the Westfield Shopping Plaza at Highway 78 and Jefferson/El Camino Real.
The weather should be wonderful, so this could be a great outing, and some great shopping.
