Listening is a Success Tool

Wisdom is the reward you get for a lifetime of listening

when you’d rather have been taking.”

Aristotle 384 BC – 322 BC, Greek Philosopher

As I see it. . . . . . . .

Listening is a success tool

You can talk to be heard . . . . and you can listen to learn . . . . what you learn becomes a valuable resource. The information that you learn becomes the thin slice of achieving greater success.

A professional listener will proactively listen about 80% of the time . . . . and speak with a purpose by ask questions to gather information about 20% of the time. The listener gains knowledge . . . .  prospective . . . . and creates a competitive advantage through the  art of proactive listening.

When you listen to another person . . . .  your showing respect for the person who is speaking. In a business environment . . . . the person that you’re listening to will give you all the information that is needed to help them successfully through the sales process.

With the gentle art of listening the professional listener gains the information . . . .  and the  insight to remain in control of a conversation. You will also have a better understanding of the other person . . . . their needs . . . . and their motivation.

Listening is a success tool . . . . used by a professional that creates a pathway to unlimited success.

This may be the most important skill we need to hone in our business. Actually probably true for any business, and pertty darn important for interpersonal interaction. Some only want to talk.

So true Lou. I have had to really learn to listen before I speak and when I do the results are always better.
