Trulia, www .trulia .com took another blow to their online reputation yesterday.  As detailed on The bloodhoud blog Trulia is still unwilling to pass along any link love to their content providors (You the REALTORs who put your listings up on Trulia).

Read The Blood Hound blog article about this, Trulia hording links from REALTORs

So what is the big deal about Trulia getting all these REALTORS to link to them but not passing any link love (Juice Popularity what ever you want to call it) back to the REALTORs who provide Trulia content (Listings, chitter chatter on Trulia Voices and such).

Read the article to learn more, it is a touchy subject for Trulia, as they have their representatives commenting on the article as well, trying to spin things of course.

Oh, and this quote from one of the comments on that article seems to be very good advice.

Please! Everyone on Trulia Voices! Go to http://www.city-data.com/forum/ and find your city! You can do the same thing there, find qualified buyers, and not help your competition!

Thanks for the comment Rudy.

I do find it funny the Trulia keeps using the same old tired argument about spam, and it totally does not hold water.  All you are saying is that you trust the content (the listings) that REALTORS give you, but you do not trust the REALTORs.

Oh and by the way Rudy, what is it you do for your job at trulia, track down negative comments about trulia.

I have really enjoyed reading your blog. I am relatively new to AR and have noticed you have received a lot of points and have achieved a remarkable high ranking. Congratulations! May I ask if you have had success in turning your high ranking into business? I am curious if it has been a profitable venture personally as well as financially. Thanks for sharing and best of luck in your business.

Hi James W,

In the beginning I used Active Rain quite heavily, but found that the consumer contacts were very few and far between.  I started to transition to my own blogs which I have full control of such as www.conventnews.org and www.nj-realestate-agent.com and am finding that I am getting more consumer contact.  You should visit my to blogs and take a look at what I am doing.  They are both what are called do-follow blogs, meaning that if you comment on a blog post and you imput your web address for your website, you will get a live link back to your site and google and yahoo will count it as a vote for your site.  all I ask is that you make your comments relevant to real estate.

Thank you,

Jim
