Wow.... I was amazed at how many responses I received from my first blog post in months.  It gave me such a good feeling to know that I was missed... and by the way... I did miss my AR friends.  I have thought about you often over the months.  Such the reception on my return.... thank you friends.  It means so much and gives me such a good feeling.  For those that emailed me during my absense, I appologize if I hadn't emailed back.

Things got very busy for me a few months ago with work and home.  I realized that I was spending way too much time here in the Rain and although I really enjoyed it..... I had to withdrawl for awhile to get done 'everything else'.  I was doing so much in the Rain and it was eating up my time....

- write a post that I want to write
- write a post for whatever contest is running
- comment on my posts to everyone that left a comment.  I felt that it was proper etiquette so they knew I was reading what they said.  If they took the time to write, I took the time to comment.
-then go and comment on posts of those that left comments for me. It's only fair that if they took the time to comment on my post, I should comment on their post.

And that doesn't take into account the reading for fun... and commenting for fun.  And I did that everyday!!

So... now that I'm back.... I have made some modifications to my ActiveRaining (yes.... its a verb now).  I just can't spend the time here that I would like to  (unless someone wants to pay me a large lump sum of cash).

  • I'm going to try and put a few posts up each week
  • I'm going to write posts that I want to write, because I want to write
  • Please don't be offended if I don't comment on comments you leave for me.  It isn't personal and I DO read all of them.  I will try to leave some re-comments... sometimes.
  • I am going to read posts that I want to read.... and comment if I feel I want to comment.
  • I am NOT GOING TO LOOK AT MY POINTS!!!!

I hope no one gets offended.  I hope my friends continue to read.  I hope I can continue to write about stuff that people may be interested in reading about (unlike this post... I'm sure).

Again... thank you my AR friends.

Martin - I have missed you around here.  I didn't see your first post when you came back.  I will look for it.  I gave up on the idea of responding to all of my comments awhile back - not enough hours in the day.  Good to see you!

Martin,

Sounds like a plan! I have seen others state similar plans for being here on AR. I hope it works for you. I have had to restrict my AR time quite a bit. I feel badly because I miss a lot of what is written. Its very hard to catch up. (you can spend days in here:). Good luck

Hi Martin,

I know how you feel....AR can take over your life at times and it can become a necessity to find a balance again.

I've devised a similar plan to you for my AR time...there are only so many hours in a week.

I'm glad to see you posting again!

LOL....as you know I had left for 6 weeks as well...I don't spend nearly as much time in here as I used to either....One thing I did notice is quite a few people are totally gone...I guess its us crazies that tend to resurface...LOL

Hi Martin, nice to see you again! It's hard to dedicate as much time here with 'work' kind of getting in the way!LOL! Balance is a hard thing to find. Glad to see you, no pressure.

You know I missed you while you were gone!!!  I think that many of us have reached that overload point where you have to step back and assess what you are doing here and is it working towards your goals or is it just socializing?  A plan, a schedule and focus are all good things....but I do hope you leave just a little time to play :)

Martin, it sounds like you're fighting an addiction! We all are. We have missed you but you have to take in to consideration what is priority in your life. I have to take time away on and off also. I love this place and what it is doing for my business but I can't say it's doing anything for my marriage. You take care of yourself and yours. Forget the obligations and do what "feels" good and "right" which is exactly what "you" want to do.

Put yourself first and you will have the strength to be there for the ones that need you!

Later in the rain~Deb
