Peanut Island: Your Work-Week Reward

By

You've worked hard this week (and all year long). This weekend, you deserve to enjoy yourself and make the most of your two-day mini vacation. While, not everybody can turn a weekend into a vacation, the residents have of Singer Island and Palm Beach have a slight advantage... You have the opportunity to be one with the ocean with friends and Floridians, and to kick back and relax with the help of cold drinks and hot sun!

If you're hoping to check each of those things off of your weekend list, and if you're looking for the closest thing to "Party Cove" than look no further than Palm Beach's very own Peanut Island.

If you're lucky enough to have your own boat, cruise on over and drop anchor next to the quaint island located in between Singer Island and Riviera Beach, or grab one of the island's 18 first-come, first-serve boat slips! If you don't have a boat at your fingertips, however, you can hop on the Palm Beach Water Taxi (departing from Sailfish Marina) or the Captain Joe's Peanut Island Ferry (departing from Riviera Beach Marina). The PBWT is $10 per person round trip and free for children 3 and under, while the CJPIF is $10 for adults round trip and $5 for children 14 and under. Additionally, there are other companies and services to take advantage of at the Riviera Beach Marina, like the Palm Beach Boat Club, for example, that allow you to rent boats (with a valid boating license), if you'd like to take matters into your own hands!

While you're at Peanut Island, enjoy walking paths, bunker tours, picnic areas with grills, swimming areas, a snorkeling lagoon, camping with 20 reserved tent sites, designated fishing areas, restroom facilities, a pier AND observation decks. All of this ensures that you will not be lacking activity on this quaint and charming island. You can learn more about all of the activities that Peanut Island has to offer on Palm Beach County's Parks & Recreations Department website. Make sure, however, to pack all your essentials for the day, being that there is no refreshment or concession stands on the island at this point.

Small price to pay for paradise, however. Come, enjoy the island life and just another perk of living on Singer Island. Perfect for partying, families, and nature enthusiasts, alike.
