Middletown Delaware's Main Street is a Joy! Imagine living in a small town with shops and galleries you can easily walk to. Here’s an easy solution--come to an open house from 1-4 p.m. this Sunday, July 31 at 200 North Cass St. and then take in the sights. Shop hours and days vary, so first check them out online.
A stroll down Main St. starts with the restored 1922 Everett Theatre, last seen in “Dead Poets Society” which was filmed here and at nearby St. Andrew's School. Check out Femme Fatale Boutique for some shiny baubles, for unique teas (can't wait to try my peach/apricot tea) and herbs, stop at Purple Sage.
Half Baked Patisserie has what looks like an endless variety of cupcakes, while the old-fashioned Middletown Hardware store tempts you with it's old-fashioned variety of nuts, bolts, you name it.
At the center of town, the eagle topped memorial at Cochran Square – the “Four Corners” – was originally erected to honor the memory of men killed in World War I. Today, it honors all war heroes. See you at 200 North Cass Street on Sunday!
