Blue Lives Matter Redux! This is the third time in 11 days that I've posted about the fact that there appears to be a war on our police and that blue lives matter. 33 police officers have been killed this year alone.
I woke up this morning to the tragic news that one police officer in San Diego, California has been fatally shot in the line of duty and another is still in surgery after a shooting south of downtown San Diego. One shooting suspect is in custody. Authorities continue to search for other possible suspect(s) who are still at-large.
Whether this was a deliberately planned attack on police or not... the motive at this point doesn't really matter. What matters is that there are people who believe it seems to be ok to shoot police. Not by any stretch of the imagination is it ok. What matters is that the hatred and rage against our police must end.
I can't believe I'm the only one who today thinks that shootings of police officers every few days is an abomination in our society that needs to be stopped and stopped quickly. I can't believe I'm the only who believes this war on the bravest of our civil servants must end and I don't pretend to have any solution to this problem. But end it must!
Please keep the families and colleagues of both of these brave San Diego police officers in your hearts, thoughts, and prayers today and in the days to come.
