7 Staging Ideas For Your Kitchen

By
Real Estate Agent

Your kitchen is one of the most, if not the most important part of the house. As a seller can take advantage of your kitchen to find the best buyer for the best price.

However, a major kitchen overhaul can cost a huge amount of money — money you probably will not fully recoup when you sell. Instead of going for a full-on remodel, consider what small changes you can make to update your kitchen.

Try these home staging ideas for your kitchen and get some offers cooking.

1. Declutter your counters. Put it away—put it all away. We’re looking at you, coffee maker, blender, knife block, standing mixer, and toaster oven. Home staging in this room is all about making your kitchen look bigger, cleaner, and more streamlined.

2. Accessorize with items that fit the kitchen. Once you’ve decluttered your countertops, it’s time to add some pizzaz. You don’t want to leave the counters completely empty. How boring! Decorative canisters, herbs, bowl of fruit, pretty cookbooks, new tea towels, etc make for nice decor.

3. Have your kitchen professionally cleaned. Having a pro thoroughly clean your kitchen is one of the best investments you can make when preparing your home to sell.

4. Light it up. Let as much natural light into the space as you can, by either opening heavy drapes or replacing them with sheer panels.

5. Be hyperaware of odors. Make sure all garbage, recycling and pet-related items are removed before showing your home, and take the time to clean inside and under the containers themselves. Nothing turns off a potential buyer faster than a bad smell.

6. Organize the insides. Potential buyers are going to open the fridge and pantry, so don’t neglect these spots when you’re staging the kitchen. People who are looking for a new home will imagine how their pots, pans, and food items might fit into your cabinets.

7. Bring in fresh flowers or greenery. Like a fruit bowl, freshly cut flowers, branches or potted herbs will bring life and cheer to your kitchen.

Have you tried staging your kitchen? What has worked or not worked for you?
