Best on Maui. One of the best places in upcountry Maui for dancing would be Casanova Restaurant in Makawao, right on the corner of Baldwin Ave. and Makawao Ave.

History: It all started in 1986 with the Casanova Deli which was a bit hit and soon expanded into the full restaurant next door in 1989. Authentic Italian food and coffee was just what this area needed. This building has been around a long time, and was the USO for marines during World War II. Previous incarnations of the restaurant include Club Rodeo, and Piero's Restaurant. My very first job on Maui was serving drinks and food here in 1980!
Hours: The Deli is open daily from 7:30 - 5:30. Lunch is served in the main restaurant from 11:30 - 2:00 and closed on Wednesdays and Sundays. The restaurant is open daily for dinner from 5:00 - 9:30. Late night entertainment runs from 9:30 - 1:00 am.
Menu: The Deli serves sandwiches and salads, home made croissants and pastries, espresso and cappuccino coffee, vegetarian items, full breakfast, lasagne and more. The restaurant offers classic Italian fare including home made pastas, salads, seafood, steaks, poultry, and lamb. Pizzas are cooked in a wood fired oven using kiawe wood. Gluten free and vegetarian options are available.
Entertainment: This is the place to be upcountry when it comes to nightlife. They have been voted "Best on Maui" for dancing by readers of Maui Time newspaper. You can hear live music on weekends with a great assortment of talent and cultural diversity. Wednesday night is Ladies Night and the house gets packed, staring at 10 pm. On the first Sunday of every month there is an afternoon event hosted by Manao Radio with accoustic entertainment from 2-5 pm.
So be sure to check out this well known establishment at the crossroads on Makawao town in Upcountry Maui. Come hungry and stay late to enjoy some dancing!
