1. Keep them short. Don't go round and round with the same information. Say it the best you can say it and leave it at that. If you have more than 30 seconds worth of info, write another blog as the second in a specific series.
2. Bold, capitalize, or underscore important information. Sometimes our readers only have time to peruse the main items. If something grabs them, they'll go back and read the entire blog.
3. Provide interesting information. Teach something, share some important information, have something of value to say. Blog, blog, blog, not blah, blah, blah...
4. Provide links. Make your blogs "user friendly". The reader is in a hurry; you are the writer, do the work!
5. Post attractive pictures that relate to the text at hand.
6. Post each blog to at least 5 groups. If your blog is worth it, post it again to another 5 groups. Get more mileage out of your blogs. If you are not a member of any groups, click on groups, read about all the hundreds of them available here on AR and join up!
7. Post your blog on Localism. This is where you'll get your leads from. If you post location specific information, you'll garner even more activity. Talk about the subjects you are an expert on. If you are a bird watcher, write about bird watching in your specific area; if you are a runner, write about running in your area. That will bring like minded people to you. If you are familiar with a subdivision, write about that subdivision, and keep writing about that subdivision. You'll be amazed by how many leads you'll get from it.
8. Tag your blogs correctly. This is probably the single best advice, period! This is how Google finds your blog. If you write about "hexagon housing", tag it as "hexagon housing". Don't tag it as "tips for real estate". If you write about a specific subdivision, tag it with it's name, and specific location.
9. Sign your blog correctly and tag your sign. If you sell Real Estate in Visalia, California, don't call your blog Melissa's blog; call it Visalia Real Estate. That will give you a lot more Google juice.
10. Make It Exciting! Your title is extremely important. I spend as much time on the title as I do on the blog. If I introduce a blog that gets very little feedback, I'll delete it, find a better title and re-insert it. It makes a world of difference.
I am collecting tips 10-20. Please feel free to contribute!
