Nebraska (and beyond) Land Prices Slip a Bit in 2015-2016!

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with Mike McCann - Broker, Mach1 Realty Farm & Commercial Land Broker-Auctioneer Serving Nebraska

To the surprise of no one except Sellers, Farm Land Mike McCann Nebraska Farm Land BrokerPrices have declined slightly in Nebraska.

I believe the slide is directly related to the current price of commodities such as corn and beans...which in all honesty have been manipulated so low that almost every farmer is now losing money to farm!

The attached article is a synopsis of what is happening in Nebraska.

FULL DISCLOSURE:  I will be the first to admit I do not totally agree with the numbers of the report.

It should be noted that this is a self reporting analysis...which means not every one is reporting sales and rent rates.

I have never been asked to participate in the survey so it does not include my farm sales or increases in rent rates that I know of and I know of Zero rent reductions. I know the majority of my contacts who are farmers or ag brokers also do not participate.

But if you would like to review the Report as provide by the University of Nebraska Agriculture Department, you can find it here: 2016 Nebraska Farmland Values and Rents

If you, or someone you know is thinking of buying or selling farm land....please give me a shout out! I would love to help them or you!!

It is tragic what they're doing to the American farmer. Thanks for sharing the information, and I hope you're doing well.

Hi Kathy Streib   If you hear anything...please let me know!!

Hi Mimi Foster   In many areas they are swueezing the Farmer hard...and the new farm bill is not really a farm bill as most of the funds in it go to welfare.

Hi Robert Vegas Bob Swetz  I have heard that and in the long run the short term solution will cost trillions of dollars in dmages to the farming industry.

Thank you all for stopping by and have a great weekend.

Hello again Mike, your very welcome and BIG Corporate America has their dirty hands in getting rid of the farmers in America and importing produce and other food products from China, India, etc ... yuck  and I try not to buy any food that comes from China, could be poisoned!

Good Morning Mike - that is sad.  We need our farmers and I am sure that policies have much to do with the decline.
