Today, May 1, 2008, was the National Day of Prayer. People all over the country gathered together to pray for our nation, the military, government officials, and their community. Caroline County was no exception.

No, it was not publicized in advance, and yet about 20 people gathered in front of the courthouse in Bowling Green to pray.

Sheriff Lippa led us in the Pledge of Allegiance, and then Pastor Cash Beveridge from Grace Community Church of Caroline led the prayer and a song of praise. Families from different denominations were all present to join in one accord to ask the Lord for His forgiveness, direction, and protection on our nation and political leaders. There were also prayers for stronger families, for the youth of our community, and for those in the military.

I am so thankful that we can meet openly to lift our prayers corporately to the Lord!
