When it's time to re-record your voicemail message!
Patricia Kennedy, consistently has so many great posts and most importantly is terrific about sharing it to us Rainers and beyond. This article has new & exciting information for all the readers to take advantage from. I, myself will be anxious to learn from it! So many times I write blogs and really don't think that it gets the impact that it should. So I love to see re-blogs of popular posts. Thanks again for sharing.
The other day, I called a highly respected real estate agent who I've known for years. And when the phone answered, she sounded a little, um, grumpy?
Actually, it was more than grumpy. Like when she last pre-recorded her message, it was the day her kid got arrested for trying to burn down her house? She just found out her husband was having more than a flirt with the nanny? She found out she'd gotten head lice from a nasty house she'd just listed?
If I'd been a prospect who'd been referred to her by her favorite raging fan, I'd have hung up without leaving a message.
Our voicemail messages are often a person's first impression of who we are. Would we be fun to spend hours in a car with? Could we be trusted with the family secrets that might be spurring a move?
Any relationship between a Realtor and a client is a close one. And it often begins when you are strangers, and that client leaves the first voicemail message. And if your message is cranky, it may never begin at all!
So grab your smart phone and listen to yourself. Maybe you sound great. But if you don't? Well, you know what to do!
