Outlook Tip: Drag and Drop for Quick Scheduling

Did you know you can drag an email message over to your calendar button and schedule an appointment as a follow up reminder?

When would you use this?

Anytme you need to set aside a block of time to get something done or to schedule an appointment in your calendar.

When you receive an email from someone that you want to follow up with...but you know it will require a chunk of time to prepare...follow these 5 quick steps to set up an appointment (remiinder)...

  1. Left click and hold onto the email from the person you want to follow up with
  2. Drag the email over to your calendar button and unclick
  3. A New Appointment window will open with the email info (from, date, subject and body, etc) in the remarks area (see picture below)
  4. Set your date, time and reminder info and
  5. Click Save and Close.
