Google is constantly in a state of change. Google looks for ways every day to improve not only their searches for users but also many tools that can organize, educate and save time in your life and businesses. Most people only use about 3% of Google's power.
The most important tools that Google has for helping you with your website are the Google Analytics, the Google Webmaster Tools, the Google Official Blog and the Google Website Optimizer.
The Google tools above are ALL FREE. That is the best part. Use all these tools together to get your website to the top of the search engines.
There are so many tools within these tools to really make sure your website is up to the standards Google has set forth. Take some time to explore these powerful ways to improve the ranking and indexing of your website.
Google has some great tools that you can put to work for you right on your homepage. Here are some additional cool tools to use:
- Use Google Alerts to check on your name, name of your business, your website name and blog name as well as your main keywords.
- Use Google Earth to zoom in on terrains and areas around the listings that you have.
- Use Gmail for on line email that you can access from any computer with an on line connection. Great for when you sign up for newsletters and don't want your email in box to be cluttered with junk.
- Use Picassa for organizing your photos on your hard drive and on line. You can also make slide shows. There is ample space. I download from my digital camera right into Picassa which also deletes them from my camera for me after I have them on my hard drive.
- One of my favorite Google applications is using the on line Google Documents which you can share with other agents in your office or the sellers. You can even make presentations and save them as pdf files or as power point files. This is so easy and I just love it. Since we co list short sales in other parts of Florida sharing the file with the other agent saves us so much time. I am also using Docs with our new closing coordinator. I will do another post on more of the things you can do in Google documents. You can see the editing and changes the other person is making in live time.
- There is a great on line Calendar that you can use to share with your team members in live time.
- Turn Google search bar into your own calculator. Just type your math problem in the search bar and hit your enter key. You can get answers from simple math to very complex math problems. Perhaps you should not tell your kids about this one!
- Download Google Notebook. As you are searching the web to research a subject you are going to blog about or planning a vacation you can clip and save parts of websites, add notes right on the website clip, add links and images all in one place. You can even choose to share your notebook.
- Add Google's BabelFish to your blogs and websites so that your International visitors can translate your important information into their language.
- In the Google Search bar; just type in Weather and your area code and you will get a 4 day weather forecast.
- You can now have your own customized Google search bar on your website. This allows you to create your very own search engine on your website.
There are a lot of other tools you can use like searching books, blogs, video, images and more. Soon there will be nothing that you can not gain access to.
Another one of my favorite Google tools is Google's 411 program and yes, it is totally FREE! You can just call 1-800-GOOG-411 and get connected to a business.
For just fun you can change your IGoogle home page to one of Google artist's themes.
So start exploring your possibilities. If you want me to do a tutorial on any of these areas, just email me your request and I will do my best to accommodate you.
