Records Yields Coming? "Don't Believe It", say central Nebraska farmers.
The USDA says we are tracking for record crops...They are just guessing at this point.
By now, you may have seen the Report circulated late last week that farmers will see record crop yields this year.
If not...here is the PDF report released on August 12, 2016.

You would think a record crop would be something to cheer about...but the truth is prices are too low right now for the corn and soybean farmers to make a profit.
In the Midwest, we had a lot of heat at the wrong time. Late night heat...when corn is trying to aspirate or cool down and breath has damaged the yields. During the time corn is pollinating, the temperatures were very hot during the day and very warm at night...these are big negatives in regards to yields.
Here is another article on the subject: http://www.cnbc.com/2016/08/12/government-sees-record-corn-harvest-but-some-say-early-estimates-too-optimistic.html
It is way too early to be saying there is a new record crop.
The farmers are saying NO...and for now...I will go with their word.
Until Next Time...
