An exciting Stowe Event, The North Face Race To The Top Of Vermont, August 28th promises to keep you on your toes.

Run/ Bike/ Hike

This is one of the toughest uphill events in all of New England.  Whether you choose to run, mountain bike or hike, this year is going to be a year to remember. Better start attacking those hills… Go for it!

Important points to remember-

The ride down from the top is your own responsibility. Participants may descend the mountain by vehicle, on foot, or by bike. Most runners descend on foot by hiking back down the Toll Road while cheering on the mountain bikers.

Bikers will be allowed to descend the mountain but are required to remain behind an official pace rider throughout the entire descent. An official pace rider will leave 20 minutes after the first finisher and at 20 minute intervals throughout the bike race. Any biker who does not abide by these rules will be disqualified.

Bus service will be provided for those hikers who wish to have a ride down the mountain. The bus will not depart until the entire race is finished.

Course Statistics:

Distance – 4.3 miles

Elevation Gain – 2564 feet (average grade ~11%)

Start Time Run/Hike – 9:00am @ the base of the Toll Road

Start Time Mountain Bike – 10:00am @ the base of the Toll Road

Ready to sign up? Just a few important bike things to note-

All bikes must have knobby tires and disc or sidepull/V-type brakes. Bikes with cantilever or caliper brakes will not be allowed. All cyclists must wear a helmet and bikes must have two working brakes. Acceptable bikes include mountain, cyclocross, and gravel grinder type bikes.

A kids event will be part of this fun filled day too!

The Kids Run For Fun is designed to give youth ages 4-14 the opportunity to experience running in a fun environment with other kids in a similar age group. There will be three separate mass starts for ages 4-7, 8-10, and 12-14. The course is a ~1km or 2km loop around the Midway Lodge at Stowe Mountain Resort. Hundreds of spectators will be on hand to cheer the kids. The event will not be timed and every participant will receive a special medal and commemorative race bib at the finish at the BBQ/Awards Ceremony.
