If you have a WordPress blogging platform and share my recent frustrations at trying to embed a YouTube video, there is a very quick and simple solution I found at Jack Humphrey.com
The problem occurs because WordPress, like several blogging platforms, uses a WYSIWYG (whizzygig) or "What You See Is What You Get" editor for writing posts.
Apparently the WordPress version of WYSIWYG doesn't like to embed things very well because all my attempts were coming out blank or scrambled.
Here's the solution; there is a check box on your WordPress blog that turns off your WYSIWYG editor and lets you simple paste the embed code into the entry or post box.
- Log into your Word Press blog
- Click the "Users" link just to the right of top center.
- Scroll to the bottom and uncheck this block: Use the visual rich editor when writing
- Now just paste the embed code to the right of your video into the entry box, click "publish" and you're done.
This is a quick and easy way to make videos of your listings or other subjects, post them on YouTube, and then paste them into your WordPress blog.
