Best Restaurants in Santa Cruz, California
I often meet and show clients homes and neighborhoods that are new to the area or who have not spent a lot of time in Santa Cruz. I like to fill them in on what each neighborhood has to offer in terms of community events, walkability, amenities and of course Restaurants! I love a great meal and if you live in Santa Cruz you may agree with me that while there are a lot of good restaurants in Santa Cruz, there are only a few that are Great!
Here are a few of my favorite restaurants in Santa Cruz, in no particular order:
La Posta - This place has a great vibe and reminds me of Argentina for some reason with the high ceilings and minimal decor. The food is California/Italian style and their bread is made in house and is amazing! Go on Tuesday's for Neighborhood Night and you will find discounts on their pizzas and specials. La Posta is located in the Seabright neighborhood in Santa Cruz.
Ristorate Avanti - This is a long time Westside Santa Cruz local favorite that moved to a new location a few years ago and I think the food has gotten even better. Their pastas are home made and the deserts are not to be missed. http://www.ristoranteavanti.com/menu/
Laili - This restaurant is located Downtown Santa Cruz and has a fantastic outdoor patio that feels like you are someplace in Italy. I recently ate there and enjoyed the Bolani appetizer, beet salad and pomegranate eggplant entree - you never tasted eggplant so good. http://lailirestaurant.com/menu/
Lillians - Lillians is classic Italian and recently moved to the corner of Seabright Ave and Soquel, right by the Del Mar Theater. Their new place is very cool, with high ceilings and a beautiful long bar. Amazing pastas and the Sunday Gravy is the best.
Cafe Cruz - This is also a long time Santa Cruz local favorite. They are always packed. The salads are huge and creative, great for lunchtime on the patio with a nice glass of wine. For some reason I almost always see another Realtor when I go there . . .
I love Sushi and there a few Sushi restaurants that I rotate between: Totoro, Shogun, located Downtown Santa Cruz, Akira in the Seabright neighborhood and Mobo also located Downtown.
These are some of the best restaurants in Santa Cruz, in my opinion. I am sure I am missing some, let me know!
