It was a weekend of socializing--A taste of the Fishhawk Lake Community
We may be remote, but we sure know how to have fun in a small, interconnected community! Friday night we entertained one of my dear friends who lives in LA County in California and who bought and sold a Fishhawk Lake lakefront home through me years ago.
She called me up as she and one of her best friends were doing the sweep of Oregon, Mt. Hood to the Coast and wanted to visit before heading off to see more of Oregon on her vacation. We had a blast and we caught up on what the "locals" were doing, (including a shared friend at the lake who is moving away and I have a buyer for her home), what she's planning to do 5 years before retiring (scouting out coastal properties in Oregon) and really just being girlfriends!
Saturday night, my husband and I were invited to share an intimate dinner with two of our new and wonderful friends, Rick and Julie who bought a small home in a sweet location at Fishhawk Lake, with my help and moved here full time in February. They absolutely LOVE it here!
Over a delicious dinner, they talked about travelling, but don't want to leave the lake, for fear they'll miss something! So, travel across the country has been put on the back burner for a bit. They have made what was a house, into a welcoming haven and came up with such great innovative ideas to utilize their 900ish sq. ft. home making it feel comfortable and even, dare I say, SPACIOUS, by adding a slider in their master, inviting in light while opening it up to a secluded dog area in the back of the home that is beautifully fenced, and is surrounded by trees; their own little oasis in the woods! They added the coolest murphy bed that looks like a bank of cabinetry running the length of one side wall and takes up very little space--an absolutely terrific idea for extra sleeping space that folds right into the wall with style.
Socializing with friends is just one of the many perks of living and working in my niche, Fishhawk Lake, because more often than not, my clients become longterm friends and it is such an honor to become a part of their lives.
If you want to engage with your neighbors in a relaxed, back-woods manner, this is a perfect place for that. We help each other out, we wave at everyone, we watch each other's pets, we have impromptu gatherings, we laugh and we sing and play musical instruments and let people borrow our tools, watercraft, and what-have-you. Those who appreciate the art of friendship created or re-created will find that here at Fishhawk Lake. Does this sound right up your alley? Come be a part of a place where we really embrace the true meaning of "community"! Let me show you how.
