The Star in Frisco is the new home of the Dallas Cowboys and, like most projects involving Jerry Jones and his family, it’s unique, big and comes with glitz and glamour.
Built on a 91-acre development, The Star includes the Dallas Cowboys World Headquarters, training facilities that include two outdoor practice fields, a 12,000-seat, multiuse event center, along with plans for an Omni Hotel, Baylor Scott & White Sports Therapy & Research Center, and multiple retail outlets.
The Ford Center will have an interior video board that covers 1,824 square feet and an exterior video board that is 2,270 square feet.
And the $1.5 billion project will continue to evolve.
There are plans for a 200,000-square-foot retail block that will have storefronts on The Star Boulevard, Winning Drive and Cowboys Way at The Star. Inspired by the Ring of Honor at AT&T Stadium, this area will include the Dallas Cowboys Ring of Honor Walk and Dallas Cowboys Community Ring of Honor.
Three years in the making, the project came to fruition through a partnership between the Cowboys, the city of Frisco and the Frisco Independent School District.
As for the name, the Star represents five points: performance, amateur competition, health and wellness, engagement and entertainment.
