INCREASE YOUR REAL ESTATE BUSINESS BY MEETING TWO NEW PEOPLE PER WEEK CHALLENGE

PHOENIX REAL ESTATEExperts tell us that they key to any successful business is networking with other professionals. How many of you are networking with professionals on a weekly basis? I have decided to meet two new people per week since the start of this year. I have to admit that it does make a difference. I continue to build the Real Estate and Beyond Team with like minded individuals who are there to serve. I believe that REAL ESTATE IS A TEAM SPORT. I see many people in my profession suffering because they want to work on an island. I shake my head and wish them good luck. We all need each other to get through this real estate hump.

TWO PEOPLE THAT I MET THIS WEEK:

  • I had the honor in meeting with a local General Contractor who wanted to learn more about fixing and flipping homes. We chatted for thirty minutes. There was a lot of synergy between the two of us. So, he is ready to do real estate investing. Also, he will be creating a real estate investor group to purchase distressed homes to Phoenix Fix and Flip. He will be in charge of all remodeling of the homes. This was a great meeting. I just sent him my first investor client that needs assistance on a Phoenix Fix and Flip.
  • Met up with a successful financial adviser. I learned the difference between a Certified Financial Planner and Financial Adviser. One of the great benefits of meeting people from other industries is the learning part. I was searching for a financial adviser to send my clients. Then, he informed me that he has no relationship with a Realtor. So, that relationship will only blossom over time.

It is time to get out of one's COMFORT ZONE. I believe that really networking with local professionals will only enhance a person. People are very impressed when I explain to them the Real Estate and Beyond Network. I have developed a group of like minded people who specialize in their own industry. We communicate with one another on a weekly basis via in person, phone, text or Email. We make things happen.

I am challenging all ActiveRain members to meet two new people each week. I guarantee that you will see a difference in your real estate business. We all need each other at one point in time.

Harry, that's a great idea - meeting two new people a day means that at the end of the year we'll have added 720 like-minded people. I'll call that group Harry's challenge and will check in a 3 months how far I have progressed.

Great idea to make it a goal!  I think this type of meeting still falls under the prospecting umbrella.  I've received great clients from Financial Advisors, probably my best clients were referred from them.  Another source is CPA or Tax Advisors -especially if you're working with an investor, as they need to knwo their tax consequences when they invest in real estate.  Great job!

Two new people a week should be easy! I enjoy going to our Realtor Open Houses because I get to see colleagues that usually we would only see if working a contract together. Great reminder Harry to get out of the office and network.

A great idea and challenge. The next step is nurturing that connection which can be challenging when we are pulled in so many different directions each day.

Love your idea Harry!  You benefit by meeting people face to face, they remember you and you can make a new friend, business acquaintance, and help your business.

Likewise, I've co-founded a networking group.  Since I missed my meeting last week, I missed their communication.  Just an hour ago I spoke with my co-founder who tells me they want to start something similar only we'll have monthly social events.  Each person will invite 5 others from different industries, none of which will be member positions.  Love the idea.  Since we have 12 members, I'm looking at possibly meeting as many as 12 new people, and as many as 60!  And I'll be the only realtor in the group!
