Southport NC - River Run Plantation - A Natural Paradise on the Lockwood Folly

By
Real Estate Agent with Southport Realty-Southport, North Carolina 132678

I would really love to live in River Run. I have an ingrained sensitivity to harsh development practices. It pains me to see irreplaceable trees cut down unnecessarily. It hurts me when newcomers and visitors to the area think the Official tree of Brunswick County is the Palm tree, which has been introduced here ad nauseam since the early eighties. That's why every time I pull through the gate at River Run, I take a deep breath and give thanks that a community like this still exists.

When a client contacted me wanting to list his waterfront lot in River Run with me, I couldn't say no. Although I work primarily as a , everyone knows I have a soft spot for River Run and it's on the water in a great location to boot. Needless to say, I didn't hesitate. Real Estate prices in Brunswick County have softened considerably since their peak in '05. Once again, there are opportunities to afford premier properties at a discounted price. If you've dream of buying a home site on the water in Brunswick County, make sure you have this one on your list.

Lot # 45 - 563 Lockwood Court

It is a rare for a waterfront lot offering to csouthport nc real estateome up on Lockwood Court. This is in one of the most beautiful areas of River Run. Beautifully wooded with ever-changing views of marsh, river, birds, and shrimp boats headed out to the Atlantic. I'd love to show it to you. Priced to SELL at $197,000 - and if you find a lot anything like this for the price in Brunswick County, I want to see it!

Hi Vicki,
I'm happy to see you back on AR.  This looks like a gorgeous property and the price is extremely reasonable. Somebody is going to get a real buy on this one.
Agree with you about the palm trees....big expense, big gamble.

Cynthia-Hey I do make it back from time to time. Thanks for keeping a lookout for me. As far as palm trees, I think I need to do a blog...what do you think? Now for any of you out there who live where palms grow naturally, this doesn't apply. The water consumption for these transplanted big babies is well over 50 gallons a day. Not to mention the havoc caused by the removal of these by the tens of thousands from fragile wetlands in Florida where they act as much-needed filterers and flood reducers.

I've been seeing a lot of dream deals here lately. I am patiently waiting for the "I can."  How's your market up that way? Thanks again for commenting.

Vicki,
Yes, I think a post on palm trees would be excellent.  People need to be educated.

Hi Karen, I appreciate the comment.....I just sold a getaway in there to a lady from York County. I know there are some beautiful spots up your way too.

Cynthia, you are nice to always pay me a visit. How's the market up your way. Ours has picked up a little, nothing to shout about. My daughter's soccer team just lost to Swansboro 2-1 in the 3rd round of the State Playoffs. Good luck to them...they are a very good team.
