What is an Acre?
It is a measure of land.
The size of the land is measured as such:
1 acre of land =
43,560 square feet
4,840 square yards
160 square rods
1/640 square miles
An acre can be in any shape, from rectangles to circles or even hexagons, so long as the total area of land is 43,560 square feet.
An acre is fixed at 43,560 square feet. If a one-acre parcel happens to be in the shape of a square, its sides would be 208.71 feet each. However , the number and length of the acre can be anything, just as long as the total area measured equals 43,560 square feet.
