The 7 Habits Of Highly Effective People, Stephen R. Covey

By
Real Estate Agent with New Star Real Estate

There is not much of anywhere in life that you can work or play without dealing with people.  Some of those people might be difficult.  It also does not hurt to take a look into your own disposition.

The 7 Habits Of Highly Effective People by Stephen R. Covey gives you a great background on how to deal with and react to  events and associations.

Learn about personal leadership and empowering yourself to be a better person.

I took an Organizational Behavior class  in college from Stephen R. Covey.  What an opportunity!  Since then I have been to many of his seminars and I always come away with the attitude of "Yes, I can do this!"  Do yourself a favor and get this book in your hands and read and study it. Another suggestion with all the hours spent on the road is to listen to the audio version.

I think anyone effective in no matter what they do tend to have habits.  Some may be good, and others bad, but it is the things we do consistently that make us who we are.

There are numerous books on leadership and Covey is one of the greats.  When you get a chance, take a look at Maxwell as well.  When you REALLY have time, go to the management section and you'll find many authors who write on this subject.  Perhaps someday I may write one myself! :)

This is an amazing book.  I read it in college and loved it.  It fires you up!  Thank you for bringing it to my attention again.  I am going to go back and re-read it!

Carol - This book was pivotval for us when we were starting our real estate company.  Covey provides so many valuable insights to live by.  It's always worth re-reading.

If you would like to implement some of Stephen Covey's best ideas, you can give a try to this web aplication:

Gtdagenda.com

You can use it to manage and prioritize your Goals (in each of your life's categories), projects and tasks, in an intuitive interface. It has a Checklists section, for the repetitive activities you have to do, important but not urgent (Quadrant II, for example your routines/habits). Also, it features a Schedules section and a Calendar, for scheduling you time, activities and for the weekly review.

Some ideas from GTD are also present, like Contexts and Next Actions.

And it's available on the mobile phone too, so you can access it wherever you are.

Hope you like it.
