It was a very long post, and I read every word, and then!

This is just annoying.

You find a post written by a new blogger on ActiveRain in the First Timers section.  Looks pretty good.  I start reading and am sort of hooked, thinking to myself, "Good job, Newbie!"

As I read, I start to compose my comments - something perfect, like a compliment on her well-written first blog effort here and a warm welcome to our community.

Then, with fingers ready to dance on my keyboard, I see it:

Comments have been disabled by the author

Well, that's a buzz kill!

ActiveRain is a social network for real estate professionals, and we can't be very social if you back off and don't allow comments!

So to today's disabler, your first effort was very well written, and welcome to ActiveRain!

Good morning JM.   I remember my first blog.  It got two comments but I got through it.  I just don't understand why someone would disable any comments on their own post..

I think that they must not know that they are doing it.  I cannot see a good reason for disabling comments.  Sending a message to the blogger is probably the best way to get it corrected.  Thank you for sharing.
