What's the Difference Between Deconstruction and Demolition

The tearing down or deconstructing of a structure or building has become a real science. The primary difference between demolition and deconstruction is in the methods selected to achieve the end result of removing something, usually a structure to make room for something new.

Simply tearing down a structure is called demolition. Deconstruction, on the other hand, makes use of materials from the previous building by carefully taking it apart to insure the preservation of elements for re-use if possible. Deconstruction enables you to recycle some old materials, something the team at 3Rs Construction and other quality green builders like to do, however the additional cost in labor has to be factored into the decision you have to make between deconstructing and straight demolition.
