This weekend it's time for the 22nd annual Freestore Foodback Rubber Duck Regatta! A fun part of Cincinnati's annual Riverfest celebration during Labor Day weekend, Sunday September 4th, 2016 tens of thousands of ducks will go into the Ohio River!
You just can't help but love this event and what it's about! ALL the money raised sponsoring ducks goes to stocking the Freestore Foodbank with food, and what they do is phenomenal. Did you know for $25 worth of ducks they can provide food for a family of four for a WEEK??!!!!
The Annual Rubber Duck Regatta is the major fundraiser for Freestore Foodbank and here's a chance to make a difference and prevent hunger for so many in the greater Cincinnati area.
Freestore Foodbank is Cincinnati's primary foodbank and serves 20 counties across Ohio, Kentucky & Indiana, with donations from corporations, food manufacturers, grocery stores and private citizens enabling the capability to feed those in need.
The 22th Annual Rubber Duck Regatta will commence at 3 p.m. Sunday September 4th as up to 200,000 ducks will take the plunge off the Purple People Bridge and start their race down the Ohio River! Watch the video above to get an idea of just how many ducks that is! The ducks are serialized and there will be some lucky winners. First place is a car, 2nd place is 52 weeks of $100/week at Kroger, and 3-7 get $500 each from Kemba Credit Union. And if you REALLY beat the odds, there's one duck insured to pay out $1 million if it finishes first!
You can sponsor a duck for $5 or 6 for $25, or even a few more if you want! You can buy them at your local Kroger, Kemba Credit Union, or sponsor your ducks online. We've got our 6 ducks already with a purchase at Kroger.
So don't delay, get your Rubber Duck Regatta duckies before it's too late!
