Almost Wordless Wednesday: Exotic Rex Begonias!

We spotted this duo of "Rex" Begonias which resemble coleus.  They are known for their foliage, and they do flower.  The pink one which slipped into my cart (it is something that happens to me often), and its name is "Shadow King Pink".  They are easy to care for, they thrive in shade to part shade, they appreciate having their soil moist, and a bit of liquid fetilizer every two weeks.

Happy Wednesday!

My begonia isn't quite as dramatic, but I took it inside for the winter (as my nursery lady told me to do) and it has thrived so beautifully (after almost losing it by being a bad girl and not taking it in sooner) I haven't had the drive to put it back outside. it is in a lovely spot where it now resides quite happily. AND, you can make cuttings that will start new plants as well.

Doncha love it how they can grow legs and jump into your cart without even having to ask??

Good evening Ron and Alexandra. These are just stunning. I have them but in summer they need constant watering.

Hello Ron and Alexandra, plants always have a way of jumping in my cart as well but they don't last long, I'm not a good mom to them.

Rex is just beautiful.  And I've never seen one of these, much less had one jump into my cart!

I always appreciate the beauty of flowers and what others can do with them. Sadly, we are just not as successful with plantings as we would like.

Good morning A.  I hear ya, those things just seem to walk, or fly, into the cart my wife pushes around.  Haven't figured how they can do it but it happens.  Maybe one of these days I'll be able to take a video of it...  LOL

Hi Alexandra and Ron --- a trip to the nursery is nothing without helping a few "kids" that need a new home.   Nice contrast in color.

They are so beautiful and healthy looking too! The world is beautiful wherever there are people and flowers who live harmoniously!
