I don't know where they came from, but lately I have been receiveing a lot of e-mails with the following little tag at the bottom:
(It's a bit difficult to read on here for some reason, but it reads: "Please consider the environment before printing this email.")
All I can say is: WHAT A GREAT IDEA! Someone somewhere was definitely on the ball when they thought of this. All you do is add this little green tag to the end of your e-mail signature line in Outlook and it's there with no extra thought or effort.
It is so strange in the last few days I am getting tons of emails with the same saying and graphic. I have added it to my outgoing email signature too! This sure gets people thinking Green! Thanks for blogging this Steve!
Love how everyone jumped on this thinking green bandwagon. It's to bad it has become a popular trend and not a real concern. Their are many things this country can do differently as one of the most wasteful nations in the world but most importantly we need to decrease are needs for oil by developing alternative fuel vehicles which, we completely have the capability to do. Hydrogen fuel cells exist and work, the only waste product is water. The only reason we aren't using them is that far to many of the nations powerful make too much money from oil.
Hi Jonelle... I am convinced that making people think about things a little harder before they fall into wasteful patterns on behavior is more than half the battle! Thanks for the comment.
Hi Shawn... I am really curious about the origin of this little green e-mail tag. I love it, but my curious nature won't let me rest until I find where it came from. Thanks for stopping by! :)
We try to use email as much as possible. If you fax to our fax number, it turns into an email. Less paper and better quality when transmitting to others. Disclosure packets are emailed. If you read it and aren't interested, don't print it. Every little bit helps.
Hi Peter: The fax numbers that deliver to e-mail are quite handy. Been looking onto that myself. If you want a "cleaner" cersion of the tag, send me your e-mail address and you can cut and paste it from the original... for some reason it does not post cleanly into my blog.
Steve I saw this a few months ago - in Ginger Gibson's signature at Keller Williams Realty International, actually - and implemented immediately. How smart! A simple, free, effective way to make an impact. Our entire leadership team has adopted it at our office and it has trickled down to many of our agents.
Hi Anthony... I am amazed at the number of people who I send e-mail to who have taken the time to e-mail me back just to say that they love that little green tag and that they have adopted it as well. In fact, as I walked home from Starbucks yesterday a couple of trees stopped me en route and thanked me for saving the lives of their friends. Made me feel pretty good! :)
Nice Impact on me Steve...
