Looking for unique fun in Charlotte, North Carolina on Labor Day Weekend? Why not participate in or attend Charlotte's annual Yard Art Day? Yard Art Day is celebrated throughout the City of Charlotte and the immedite metro areas. And I've referred to Yard Art Day as "unique," because it does appear to be unique to Charlotte. Couldn't find a mention of a similar event anywhere else in the USA.
On Labor Day, Monday, September 5th art will be on display in yards all over the Queen City metro area. The Yard Art Labor Day event is a 24 hour event and is for anyone with a front yard to express themselves creatively, regardless of age, talent or level of expertise. (By the way, if you are in a building with balconies facing a street you can also participate in Yard Art Day. Just make sure your association will allow it.)
Art of any and all mediums can be on display on Labor Day. So if you're a budding artist, feel free to set up your exhibit in your front yard on September 5th. Click here to see pictures of yard art exhibitions from previous years. They might just inspire you!

“It is my dream that for one day people remember that child within them that likes to play creatively without any judgment or restraint. For us to cross neighborhood, city boundaries. To be inclusive. Art can do this.”
– Deborah Triplett, Yard Art Day creator
