Sept. 2-5

Matthews Alive Festival

A street festival featuring a Labor Day parade, a full carnival, kids crafts, inflatables, live entertainment, and pony and train rides.

Sept. 5

Charlotte Kosher BBQ

Featuring a BBQ contest, watermelon and pickle-eating contests, live music, a kids' zone, mechanical bull riding, and more.

Sept. 8-11

Yiasou Greek Festival

Features Hellenic cultural exhibits, authentic Greek cuisine and pastries, entertainment, a kids’ play area and rides, art and shopping.

Sept. 10

Fiddle ‘n Pig Shindig Annual BBQ and Bluegrass Festival

Bringing together the best bluegrass acts in the Carolinas, including The Hinson Girls, Deeper Shade of Blue, Underhill Rose, plus barbeque and beverages.

Sept. 10

Eat From a Truck Festival.

Visit 100 food trucks from Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina for food and beverages. There will also be a kids' zone for the little ones.

Sept. 9-17

Cabarrus County Fair

Rides, live concerts, and lots of family entertainment including pig racing, a petting zoo and a dog show.

Festival of India

Performances by artists from the Indian community, Indian food, exhibits of arts and crafts from different regions of India and much more.

Sept. 17

Backcountry Days with The Charlotte Folk Society.

This free family event features music, storytelling, free ice cream, and kids crafts.  There will be demonstrations of eighteenth-century crafts such as basket weaving, blacksmithing, pottery, and cooking. Register online.

Sept. 17

Downtown Davidson Arts Festival.

Spend the evening strolling the historic streets of Downtown Davidson and find a wide variety of handmade gifts including pottery, jewelry, photography, fine art, metal work, textiles and more. Crawlers will also be treated to live music on the Davidson Green, outdoor food and beverage sales, an interactive children's art area and retail shops open late.

Sept. 17

GermanFest.

The Rowan Museum will host its annual Germanfest and the 250th Anniversary of the Old Stone House. There will be German food, early regional music, and lifestyle demonstrations of the colonial period.

Lincoln County Apple Festival

'Tawba Walk Music and Arts Festival.

The Great Pumpkin Fest
