How Do You Define Success?
I asked this question in the Q&A section earlier today. Several of the answers were similar. Seems many of us define success individually, meaning that success is not the same for everyone. For many success is defined by achievement, generally of one's goals.
While spending a bit of time on Pinterest I came across several quotes that "define" success.
"The secret of getting ahead is getting started." -Unknown
"Failure is not the opposite of success. It is part of success." -Unknown
"Success is ot the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success. If you love wha tyou are doing, you will be successful." -Albert Schweitzer
"Success does not lie in 'results' but in 'efforts'. 'Being' the best is not so important, 'doing' the bet is all that matters." Unknown
Mary Yonkers asked me how I defined success, and I couldn't give her an immediate response. Now that I've had some time to consider it, here's my PERSONAL definition.
First let me say, I don't consider success to be a final destination. I believe it to be constantly unfolding and changing. To me, success is more than business. It is being part of something bigger than yourself. Making an investment of time and talent to serve others. To take risks and grow. I am successful when I'm making a difference.
For me, it's about what is important in my life. How do I want to be remembered? (Hmmm....sounds like another topic for a question, and a possible post!)
