When will you take a vacation?

I have been so crazy busy that I have been thinking quite often about a vacation.  In my mind it sounds great and feels like relaxing.  But then reality sinks in and I wonder when would be a good time to vacate Texas?!?!  So...I'm asking the rest of you busy stagers and re-designers out there when will things slow down and when will you plan your vacation?  The only "vacations" I've been able to take in the last 3 years are short and usually include a conference.  Any advise?

Cindy- I don't know, but as soon as business slows down and I start to plan a trip, my phone starts ringing!

What's a vacation? ; )  I haven't had more than a couple of days off at a time in about 3 years.  I would like to take more than a few days off during the summer, but don't know if I'll actually go somewhere or hang out at home.

Will we ever have a down time?  I love being busy but man...I need to know there is a light at the end of this fabulous faux finished tunnel!

I have found the best time to take a vacation (or have a baby for that matter!) is the time between Christmas and New Year's Eve.  Otherwise there just doesn't seem to be enough quiet time to leave town for more than a day or two.  Good luck!

Towards the end of Fall seems to be a good time in our industry.  It depends on where you're going, but I like going to faraway places that time of year since there are far fewer tourists and hotel rates are lower too.  We always find someone to stay in our home, feed the dog, and take phone messages though!

May 27th to be exact until June 4th or so - not sure, I may drive slowly and stop often on my way from FL to MN, bringing my partner (& also daughter ) back from college.  That qualifies as vacation, right?

Cindy, I would say just take a vacation any time you think you want to. A week away anytime isn't going to make the world stop.

I agree with Gary take the vacation and find another stager/friend to cover your staging jobs while you are gone.

Never it seems!  BEEN TAKING A LOT OF CONFERENCE VACATIONS TOO! I don't think those count though. Hopefully we both can squeeze one in this summer.  Good Luck!
