South Gwinnett does well at Region 8

South Gwinnett showed at Region 8 5AAAAA that everyone needs to keep their eye on South Gwinnett Track.

South Gwinnett will represent Region 8 at the state track meet in the following Events:

4x100M Relay - Derrick (Drock) Brown, ?, Jonathan (Smoove) Krause and Cortez Johnson in the Finals they finished 2nd with a time 42.55 and the B team finished 5th place with a time 43.26.

4x400M Relay B team got 2nd place with a time of 3.26.31 - Kevin Gary came in after the first leg leading way ahead of everyone else with a incredible split time of 49.01 WOW, CJ, Darius Malone, Jacque Wilkins.

200M -  Region 8 will be represented by Jonathan (Smoove) Krause who took 2nd place with a time of 22.21.

400M - Region 8 will be represented at state meet by South Gwinnett with  Jonathan (Smoove) Krause was 1st with a time of 49.59.

Other results for South Gwinnett at the Region 8 Championships

100M - Cortez Johnson placed 9th with a time of 11.13, had a PR for the season and missed qualifying for the finals by 7 100ths of a second.

Barry Hulbert finished 6th in the 110h Hurdles with a time a 16.26 and finished in 6th place in the 300 Intermediate Hurdles with a time of 43.20 and he is a Freshmen. Look forward to more success from Barry in the future.

Coach Mudd was told by one of the other Region 8 coaches at the end of the meet that South Gwinnett has the best conditioned quarter milers he has ever seen. That makes all the hard work the guys have done all season worth all the efforts, Great Job GUYS!

Next is the Georgia State Championships in Jefferson Georgia starting on May 8th and going through May the 10th.

Rate of Motion will then begin the summer track season on May 17th and 18th at the Boys and Girls Club 7th Annual Invitational at Woodward Academy.
