Can't Get Out Of Your Own Way Somedays? This Maine Moose Knows The Feeling.

Wallowing In Snow...Frustrated, Cold, But Being Helped By Locals In Aroostook County!

Ever have days when you are up to here with whatever you have to deal with? Maine wildlife had a feast or famine due to snow loads this winter. Coyotes and wolves feasted on venison but the larger animals had major trouble getting around like this little fellow to the right.  Scroll down to see the production getting this tired, struggling moose freed from a deed snowdrift he must of wandered into during a storm and then more storm built up around him.  Maine's help their neighbors and the local wildlife! Maine...the way life should be.

The poor moose.  I am glad he was helped out of the drift. How much snow was on the ground? It looks like ALOT.  Pam

Andrew.. This is a good post.  Glad to see people working together to help the wildlife.  I used to go to Maine a lot.. all over the state for that matter.  "Maine the way life should be".. Amen to that.

You can tell the little christmas trees in places were just poking out.  Had approaching 200 inches of snow..great if you are a skier, snowsledder, and plow snow for a living by the hour.  But homeowners had to get porch and cottage roofs cleared off to keep insurance carriers happy. Valerie..come on back up...snow's gone! Pam..we got plenty and kids enjoyed snowsledding and down hill skiing this year!

Bo....The moose like 99% of Maine moose was grateful and sent the shovelers a fruit basket full of nuts and berries from the forest where he lives.  His parents were also over the top estatic to get the little one back to home.
