You're an Exceptional Agent!

By
Real Estate Agent with McGraw Realtors

Ever had the comment made to you that you are an exceptional real estate agent?

If not, try some of these tips.  They might help you to stand out from the crowd (of other agents)...

1. Ask, learn and know the name of the people you're talking to.  Repeat their name back to them.  Find a memory device of some sort in order to help you know their names right out of the gate.

2. Take time to get to know your people.  And take time with your people.  Show them you care about them.  You can look at them as dollar signs or as new found friends.  Do you know what friends do?  They REFER their friends to people who impress them.

3. Be careful not to prejudge folks.  Are you too good to talk to anyone who walks through the door at an open house or are you willing to be gracious, kind and a human being to them?

4. Go the extra mile to provide information and answers.  If you arent' a hub of information to buyers and sellers, someone else will be.

5. Be nice to people.  For pete's sake...act like they are the most important people in your life at that moment because you know what?  They usually are!

6. Always ask what the children's names are.  Everybody is proud of their kids.  When you talk to the kids, kneel down to their level.  Otherwise you're talking down to them.

The last one is a huge secret that not too many agents seem to practice.  Try it and see if you don't get a huge positve response next time!

Bob,

Excellent advice. A couple of things here will not be easy for me, but I will try it. Thank you. Can I say that this is an exceptional advice?

Bob - good advice.  When sending follow-up cards I make it a point to put the kids names on the envelope or card too.  They love it.

Nice ideas!  I am a big hugger:) I love to hug my clients, especially the first time homebuyers.  If their parents are not at the closing, I fit right in:) True, some people don't want the contact, I can read people pretty good, some of those people get a hardy Congratulations.  Another good point, are pets.  Some people have pets and not children. Good for popbys!  BE THE HUB!

It's a Good Life!
