Greenbrier County is a very special place, and offers a plethora of things to do, places to visit, sights to see and with the low crime rate, great schools, and beautiful vistas, it is a great place to live.
Greenbrier County WV is rich in history and natural beauty. It is set in a lush forested area amid flowing rivers and streams in the alluring Allegheny Mountains.
Below are just a few of the many landmarks in Greenbrier County.
The Greenbrier River Trail
The Greenbrier River Trail is a 78-mile long and about 100 feet wide rail trail. The trail is part of the West Virginia State Park system and is the longest rail trail in West Virginia. The trail closely mirrors its namesake, the Greenbrier River, for most of its length offering trail users countless opportunities for swimming and fishing, as well as, bicycling, hiking/walking, cross-country skiing and horseback riding. The trail runs along the Greenbrier River and passes through a picturesque countryside as it winds through the river valley. Whatever activity you do on the trail you will no doubt see many species of interesting wildlife along this wonderful trail.
Some other landmarks are the Greenbrier Resort and Carnegie Hall. Of course, there are many other landmarks that I will discuss in another post.
The Greenbrier Resort - The Greenbrier is a distinct and spectacular, luxury mountain resort situated on 11,000 acres. The Greenbrier offers exclusive services and amenities such as championship golf, fine dining, more than 55 activities, designer boutiques, world-renowned mineral spa and a 103,000 square foot gaming and entertainment venue.
My husband and I have stayed at the Greenbrier and we visit often. You have to experience the authentic southern hospitality at the Greenbrier. So much to do and see at The Greenbrier, a great experience you will always remember. Since 1778, The Greenbrier truly is one of a kind.

Carnegie Hall - If you follow my blog, you probably know that there are Four Carnegie Halls in the world today, and one is in my town.... Lewisburg, WV, the county seat of Greenbrier County.
Music has been heard through the halls of this stately Georgian Revival structure for nearly a century. The WV Carnegie Hall annually serves more than 75,000 patrons with live performances by outstanding companies and artists from around the world, award-winning arts in education programming, classes and workshops, fine art exhibits, an independent film series and more! Of course, I have to mention the summer concerts on the lawn of Carnegie Hall, a great time for family and friends to enjoy the WV summer evenings.
The natural beauty, peaceful living, and outstanding cultural venues make the Greenbrier Valley an extremely attractive place to live. The relatively low cost of living and the reasonably-priced land have brought an unprecedented increase in residential and commercial growth. Many visitors, searching for solitude from nearby metropolitan areas, are purchasing mini-farms or are buying secluded tracts of land to build either permanent or vacation homes.
