I heard part of a news article on the radio (KTSA 550 AM) this afternoon that really concerns me.  According to the article, Texas Governor Rick Perry is pushing for a new bill    that will tax small incorporated businesses making $1,000,000. or less per year on the gross amount they bring in rather than on the net amount.   This is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard.  It is sure to put many people out of business.  All kinds of businesses will be affected, restaurants, dry cleaners, books stores, clothing stores, service businesses, retail and the Mom and Pop's.

If you are like most Realtors, your expenses make up a lot of money.  I know mine do.  If I had to pay tax on the full gross amount without the expenses being deducted, I would not make anything.  What about you?

This bill has not passed yet.  They are hoping to fully enact it by October of this year.  There is still time to contact your State Representatives and Senators.  Call, write and email.  This needs to be stopped in its tracks.  For more information, contact the above radio station and then be proactive and contact your legislator.  It's time to say "NO" to more taxes.

BTW, if things have not changed in recent years, most larger corporations in Texas do not pay much, if any tax.

Ricki, That's scary.  I have not heard about it.  Did you find a link for the bill?  I would really like to read more about it.  AS IF THEY DON'T GET ENOUGH!!!

Seems to me like big business and/or gov't is trying to force small businesses out of business.  I've had this impression for a long time, and a bill like this if passed will do exactly that.  All small businesses need to band together and tell every other small business person they know about this, and get moving asap to stop this, or we are all in trouble.

Hi Team DiMuria and Marchel,    I heard this on the radio while driving this afternoon and this is all I heard.  I was in an area that did not get good reception.  I looked up the station just now and it appears I was listening to the Jim Bohannon Program.  To find out more, call your state legislator.  They will send you information about it and you can voice your concern at the same time.  I was told years ago that a simple 2-3 paragraph letter to a legislator does a lot of good.  They consider that a large number of people feel the same way compared to each letter they get because most people will not take the time to write.  So letters and calls do matter to them.

That's for sure Gregory,  It is scary!  We must get proactive.  How much more can we take?

This is Nuts!  I have several small corporations and pay too much already!

Trey, We all pay too much and they just waste more money every year.  It's time to take back our government and put some people in there that actually work for a living instead of career politicians that live off the rest of us.  Oooh,  I'm getting mad!

Ricki, this is truly an outrage! What are they trying to do to us? I'm going to check this one out right away! It makes me mad too. No wonder our enconomy is in so much trouble. Thanks for bringing this to light darlin! Later in the rain~Deb

My pleasure, Deb.  Need to do all we can to help them remember we pay their salaries and they are SUPPOSED to be working for us, not being "gods" to us!

Ricki - Don't get me started on politicians from Texas! Good luck in getting this stopped. What a travesty!

Your welcome Alan,  Hopefully we can get it stopped!

Tom,  You are so right!  Remember not every politician that says they are from Texas are really from Texas!  They just want to be.  Some even buy ranches and pretend to know what they are doing.
