Why Living in Clarksville TN Feeds the Soul
There are many reasons that Clarksville is a wonderful place to live. You feel it when you arrive in town and take a drive down by the river. The water of the Cumberland River is so peaceful and it beckos newcomers to sit and watch the barges and riverboats go by. Clarksvillians have found that the water and marina offers many opportunities for play and having fun with friends like boating, jet skiing, fishing and swimming.
The downtown is full of historic buildings. Many have unique characteristics and are one of kinds designs. The feel of the downtown area feels small town and Southern. It is peaceful and has restaurants, a museum and regional theater. There are park benches to sit and ponder and cobblestone sidewalks to take leisurely strolls. It embraces you and make you feel at home and at peace.
The music of the area also feeds the soul. The local university, Austin Peay State University has a vibrant music program with concerts open to the public. The local churches provide special music events as do the two local live theaters. There are many music events put on by Clarksville Parks and Recreation Dept. Rivers and Spires takes place in the spring and Riverfest is in the fall. In the winter is the Christmas on the Cumberland light show and of course it has music too. People of the South like music and after all we are only 40 miles from Nashville, Music City USA so it is only natural that the love of music would spill over.
The people of Clarksville welcome newcomers and make them feel right at home. With Ft. Campbell Military Post as part of the community, we are quite comfortable embracing a newcomer and making them feel comfortable being a Clarksvillian.
