It has been a strange year for me in real estate. In June, a flood devastated our area and many families are still without a home. From July 1 to September 16, I worked with a couple and their three girls. I really worked on getting a home in Rainelle for them, but it just didn't happen. I won't go into details but it was heartbreaking for the couple as well as for me. Working with USDA, the lender and FEMA was absolutely something I never hope to do again.... what a whirlwind! I made calls to Senator Machin's office and Attorney General's office for assistance. They tried to help but to no avail. So the couple didn't get the home they wanted. But, perhaps this was an omen. As we did find another home to lease with option to buy. It is really a great home and better for the family. So, now the flood victims have a home after almost three months of headaches.
As far as my quarterly review..... I confess that a lot of my time this last quarter was spent on the flood victims. So I need to work more on my other leads, the buyers I am working with, and my new website that should be completed this month.
My plans for the final quarter is to concentrate on my listings and get them sold. Real estate starts to slow down the last quarter of the year, as well as the first quarter. Real estate picks up again in March. My plan is to continue blogging about these listings, advertising and having a few more professional videos made on my listings.
So far, this has been the best year for sales and listings... a whirlwind that has stopped for now. I am looking forward to a successful 2017.
