The Purpose of Asking Questions is to Learn

“Ask questions to learn . . . . and gather information.

Listen to Understand . . . . and gain knowledge.”

Lou Ludwig, Sales and Management Consultant,

Success Coach, Speaker, Trainer and Author

As I see it. . . . . . . .

The purpose of asking questions is to learn

An excellent way to learn and gather information is to ask questions . . . .  Do it with an open mind . . . . and listen to what is being said. When you consistently ask question with an open mine you become a learning magnet.

A person that becomes a lifelong asker of question . . . . builds a vast base of knowledge. That knowledge will accumulate . . . . and over time becomes a valuable resource of information to you to draw on. Based on your knowledge you will become a recognized leader in your field.

When you turn your information . . . . into knowledge you gain a competitive business advantage. When your knowledge is applied appropriately . . . . you move the into the possibility zone of greater opportunity . . . . and achievement.

The purpose of asking questions to learn . . . . When you ask the questions with an open mind . . . . and you will ask yourself into the winners circle.

Lou - I really wish that folks in "role playing" would get this!  The object is to learn together ... not to try and stump a colleague!  Perhaps off target ... but it is what immediately came to mind!  Thanks for your continued wisdom.

So true, Lou.  And for some great thinkers asking questions can also be a way of teaching.

Hello Lou

The information within your post is so true and I find myself asking quite a few questions when I am trying to learn about something I find interesting.

While I am asking some of these questions a person may look at me funny, then I explain to them I am just trying to learn.
